Forum’s new summer issue included three poems dealing with paintings. Charis Morgan’s poem was inspired by a picture of Robert Henri, Janée Baugher’s verse reflected on an Andrew Wyeth painting, and Rustin Larson’s poem drew poetic inspiration from a painting lesson. Do you have a favorite painting or drawing?
Danny Heitman’s is “The Hypochondriac,” a 19th century lithograph by the French caricaturist Honore Daumier. Its image of a man nervously taking his own pulse often reminds him that we can all get self-absorbed.
We would love to hear about your favorite piece of art. Is there a painting or drawing that holds a special place in your heart? Share it with us and tell us why it resonates with you. Whether it’s a classic work or a contemporary piece, every artwork has a story to tell and emotions to evoke.
