Dissertation Fellowship Feature - Trevor Ray Auldridge

Oct 22, 2024

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi annually awards twelve Dissertation Fellowships of $10,000 each to active members who are doctoral candidates and are completing dissertations. Dissertation Fellowships support students in the dissertation writing stage of doctoral study.

For members like Trevor Ray Auldridge, a graduate student at San Diego State University, the funds can help them explore new horizons in their academic journey. As a 2024 Dissertation Fellowship recipient, Auldridge used the funds to examine the experiences of adolescents living in Dixon, California, one of the most upwardly mobile, racially diverse, rural communities in America. His research will help to understand why upward mobility is happening there and if we can replicate those conditions in other places across the country.

“I could not have made it this far in my graduate education without the help of Phi Kappa Phi. The dissertation award will relieve financial burden in my life while also letting me know that people believe in my potential as a scholar,” said Auldridge.

Established in 2014, Dissertation Fellowships give 12 awards at $10,000 each annually.

The deadline to apply for a Dissertation Fellowship is Saturday, November 30. For more information, visit www.PhiKappaPhi.org/Dissertation or contact Director of Awards Kelli Partin at kpartin@phikappaphi.org.
